Strix Enhances Wireless Gear
Calabasas-based Strix System announced this week that it has released a version of its wireless mesh networking products designed for outdoor use. The company's Wi-Fi cellular system provides wireless networking support and integrates both a wireless backbone as well as wireless access point support. The Access/One Network OWS (Outdoor Wireless System) supports multi-hop, multi-radio technology which enables easy deployment of a wireless network without requiring wires connections to access points. The company said that the system is targeted at outdoor deployments in public safety, rural, and metropolitan area networks, and has beend deployed in the City of Hermosa Beach and the City of Jersey Village, among others.
