NTT West, Strix To Network Japan
Calabasas-based Strix Systems is in a major deal to provide wireless mesh networking equipment to NTT, the firm said this morning. Strix said that it will provide NTT West, a subsidiary of Japanese telecommunications company NTT, with equipment to cover over 100 Japanese cities and to deliver service to a population of over 50 million. The network will be powered by the Strix Access/One outdoor wireless and indoor wireless systems. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Strix said that NTT West will use the network to deliver broadband wireless voice, video, and data systems to the corporate enterprise and municipalities in Japan, alnog with public safety and emergency services applications.
