PogoTec Launches The PogoCam, A Camera For Your Glasses
Newport Beach-based PogoTec said today that it has launched its first product, the PogoCam, a miniature camera designed to attach to any pair of glasses. The new device costs $149.00. According to PogoTec, the PogoCam attaches magnetically to most glasses, so consumers can record things from a different point of view. The new device appears to be directly competitive to Venice-based Snap's own camera sunglasses. Although PogoTec did not mention Snap in its launch, the company did say its device is a way for consumer interested in eyewear cameras to avoid "being forced into less fashionable eyewear options." PogoTec's camera holds up to 100, 5MP photos and up to six, 30-second 720p videos; the company said its new camera also includes a "smart case" which connects to the camera using a USB-C connector, and expands storage up to 16,000 photos and up to 90 minutes of video. PogoTec's CEO is Brendan Sheil.
