RealD, Eyewear Firm in Deal
Los Angeles-based RealD, a developer of 3D projection hardware for movie theaters, has inked a deal with an Australian eyewear firm to create premium, stylish glasses, the firms said today. According to RealD and Look3D, they are in a licensing agreement where Look3D will design, manufacture, and distribute a line of 3D glasses in varoius shapes and styles. The companies said that the new glasses will be compatible with RealD theaters worldwide and allow theatergoers to own their own pair of 3D glasses. The two companies expect the eyewear to be available in December.
