ZPower Gets ISO Certification
Advanced battery technology developer ZPower announced a new ISO 9001:2008 certification for its rechargeable silver-zinc batteries, the company said today, another step in its efforts to bring its technology to market. The Camarillo company said the certification covers design, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of its rechargeable silver-zinc batteries, ahead of its release of a hearing aid battery. The company said it will soon be releasing its first batteries into the market. The venture backed company has been working on bring its battery technology to market as an alternative to nickel metal hydrive (NiMH) and lithium-ion batteries. The firm says its batteries deliver 40 percent more energy than lithium-ion batteries and that 95 percent of its battery can be recycled. The company also says its technology is far safer than those technologies.
