Younity Extends Personal Cloud Service To Facebook
In a big extension for personal cloud storage service Younity, the Santa Monica-based startup announced today that it has connected its service into Facebook, letting users access any file from Facebook, and also share those with friends on the popular social networking service. Younity lets users access the same set of files across all of their devices, including their home computers, laptop, or mobile device. Younity said it has also added support for external storage drives to what it calls its "personal cloud" service.
According to Erik Caso, the CEO of Younity's parent firm, Entangled Media, the new support for Facebook means that users can share things such as their photos, music, or video via Facbeook via a simple click. Younity is free, and supports Mac OS X, Windows computers and all iOS devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The company is one of the startups out of Los Angeles startup accelerator MuckerLab.
