Xirrus Rolls Out Spectrum Analyzer
Westlake Village-based Xirrus said today that it has rolled out a new, embedded spectrum analyzer for its Wi-Fi arrays. The new feature allows the Xirrus Wi-Fi hardware to be used to monitor Wi-Fi networks. Spectrum Analyzers are used to analyze the use of wireless spectrum by IT administrators, to determine if there are unauthorized wireless networks in operation, or to locate sources of interference with Wi-Fi signals. Xirrus said that the new spectrum analysis capability will be included as part of the firm's existing Wi-Fi arrays at no cost.
