VIZIO Announces New Google TV Device
Irvine-based VIZIO and Google said today that they have tied together to launch a new product which incorporates Google TV and provides streaming Internet video to any HDTV. The new Vizio Stream Player, among a number of product launches by Vizio today at CES, allows users to access Internet content and services via special apps, including access to the Google TV service. The two said the Stream Player incorporates the Google Chrome browser, Google's TV browsing and search functionality, and connects to any HDTV over an HDMI cable. The companies said they will begin taking preorders for the product sometime this spring. Pricing was not announced.
