ViaSat Selected By Icelandair
Carlsbad-based satellite internet provider ViaSat is powering high-speed, Internet streaming for Icelandair, Icelandair said this morning. According to Icealdnair and Viasat, Icelandair will provider in-flight connectivity and internet streaming services on its transatlantic flights, across Icelandair's fleet of 16 Boeing 737MAX aircraft. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. ViaSat said Icelandair will use its new Gen-2, KA-band in-flight internet system, using both its ViaSat-2 satellite network covering North America and the Atlantic Ocean, and the European KA-SAT network, which is partly owned by ViaSat through a European joint venture with Eutelsat.
