ViaSat Plans Satellite Launch Today
Carlsbad-based ViaSat said this morning that it is planning to launch a new satellite, the ViaSat-2 satellite, from Guiana today. The company said its satellite is scheduled for launch at 4:45 p.m. PDT. ViaSat's new Ka-band satellite will provide broadband services across North America, Central America, the Caribbean and a portion of northern South America, as well as the primary aeronautical and maritime routes across the Atlantic Ocean between North America and Europe. The satellite is being launched on an Arianespace Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle.
