Unmute Picks Up $2.2M In Seed Funding
Los Angeles-based Unmute, which develops mobile apps to let people share and interact in live phone calls, has raised $2.2M in a seed funding, the company said Friday. The funding came from Greycroft Partners, and also included Comcast Ventures, Crosscut Ventures, Betaworks, as well as the NBA's David Stern and Robert Kirkman of "The Walking Dead". The company's free iTunes app is centered around live call sharing and interactive messaging, plus tools to turn those calls into podcasts or replay them for others. The app went live on Friday. Unmute was founded by Justin Spraggins (CEO) and Jared Kemink (Lead Developer).
