Triller Takes $28M For Social Video Sharing
Los Angeles-based Triller, which operates a social video sharing service which competes against TikTok, has raised $28M in a Series B funding round, the company said on Wednesday. The startup said the funding was led by Proxima Media. In conjunction with the funding round, Triller said it has acquired UK-based MashTraxx, a developer of a machine learning platform for music and video editing. Triller, which is led by CEO Mike Lu, says it now has over 13 million active users, and grew 500 percent year-over-year; the company now has 40 employees. As part of the funding round, Bobby Sarnevesht, partner at Proxima Media, has become Executive Chairman of Triller.
