Toggle Finds Funding From Warner Bros.
Toggle, a new startup creating HDMI-based dongles to allow consumers to purchase movies and other videos using UltraViolet, has raised a seed round of funding from Warner Bros., the company announced last night. The company--led by Adam Johnson--is looking to promote the use of Warner's Ultraviolet movie storage service in retail channels. UltraViolet is Warner's take on digital film distribution, and lets users access films whether via their television, mobile, tablet, or PC. Toggle's devices are not yet available, but the company said it plans to release its first products in October. Size of the seed funding round--which came on top of an investment in Toggle as part of Warner MediaCamp--was not disclosed by the company. More information »
