Texas AG Lines Up With Musk Against Twitter
In a move which aligns the State of Texas with new billionaire resident Elon Musk, Ken Paxton, the Attorney General of Texas, announced on Monday that he has ordered a Civil Investigative Demand (CID) to investigate whether Twitter's reporting on real versus fake users is "fake, misleading, or deceptive" under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Paxton said that the number of bots are "directly harming Texas consumers and businesses." The investigation comes after Elon Musk alleged the exact same claims against Twitter, and threatened to pull off his purchase of the company. Musk recently moved the headquarters of Tesla Motors and Boring Company out of California to Texas, and has threatened to do the same with Hawthorne, California-based SpaceX.
