T2 Funds Water Purification Firm
T2 Venture Capital, the venture capital spinout of Larta Institute, has re-upped in a venture investment in Stonybrook Purification, a New York-based firm developing clean water purification systems. Stonybrook said this week that it has raised $4.1M in a Series A investment, which came from Battery Ventures, along with Modern Water and TianDi Growth Capital. T2 Venture Capital was the original investor in Stonybrook Purification, and T2's Victor Hwang also serves as interim CEO of the Stony Brook University spinout. Larta Institute, based in Los Angeles, was originally the Los Angeles Regional Technology Alliance, and had been focused on spurring startups in the Los Angeles area; the group has now expanded to provide its services nationwide with a focus on technology transfer.
