Sprints Ships EV-DO Rev A Device
Sprint has launched the first, available EV-DO Revision A broadband card, the Novatel Wireless S720 Sprint Mobile Broadband Card, which promises to dramatically increase uplink and downlink speeds for wireless data transfers. The new device will connect into Sprint's wireless broadband network, which the carrier is upgrading to the fater EV-DO Revision A standard this year. The announcement is a major win for San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, which is supplying the cards to Sprint in an OEM deal. The Novatel Card supports access to data across Sprint's cellular network at DSL-like speeds, at up to 850 kbps for download and 400 kbps for upload when the network is upgraded.
