SkySafe Takes $11.5M More For Drone Defense Systems
San Diego-based SkySafe, a developer of anti-drone technology, said on Thursday that it has raised $11.5M in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz. SkySafe said that Lars Dalgaard of Andreessen Horowitz joins the company's board with the funding. In addition to the funding round, SkySafe says it has also received a $1.5M contract with the Department of Defense, to provide counter-UAS systems to Naval Special Warfare units. SkySafe's portable system takes down drones while they are in flight.
