Skype Launches Free Airport Wi-Fi Deal
Peer-to-peer, voice-over-IP service Skype announced this morning that it will begin offering a free hour of Internet access, via third party wireless hotspots, in select airports across the U.S. Skype said the free access will be available from December 21st through December 27th. Skype's WiFi service works for users on PCs, Macs, and iOS. The service is powered by Santa Monica-based Boingo Wireless, which inked a deal in 2009 to allow Skype users to its hotspots.
