Semtech Chalks Up LoRa Win For Construction, Mining Equipment
Camarillo-based wireless semiconductor developer Semtech has chalked up another design win for its low power, wireless LoRa technology, saying that a developer of fleet management products for the construction and mining industry has adopted its technology. Semtech said MachineMax has integrated its LoRa devices and wireless radio frequency technology into a "smart" construction machine usage tracking solution. Expected financial impact and shipment volumes as a result of the design win was not announced. Semtech's LoRa offers up low power wireless monitoring of equipment, with battery life of up to 10 years.
