ScoreStream Adds New Funding From Intel Capital
Del Mar-based ScoreStream, the crowdsourced local sports startup led by Derrick Oien, said last week that it has added new funding from Intel Capital. Details on the size of that funding round were not announced. According to ScoreStream, the round also included Avalon Ventures, Sinclair Broadcasting, R/GA and Verizon Ventures. ScoreStream said the funds go towards new product enhancement and extension of its platform. ScoreStream's software is used to crowdsource scores and other information from local high schools and other local sports leagues, which it makes available to media outlets such as broadcast television groups, iHeart Media, and the Associated Press. Oien is a serial entrepreneur and previously headed up Chumby. More information »
