Report: Amazon Launching Package Delivery In LA, Aims At FedEx, UPS
E-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly launching a new, package delivery service in Los Angeles, its first move to compete head to head with FedEx and UPS, according to the Wall Street Journal. According to the report, Amazon's new delivery service for businesses is called "Shipping With Amazon" (SWA), and will directly pickup and deliver products for its third party merchants. No details on the new service have yet been announced by Amazon. Amazon already offers up third party logistics services for its third-party sellers, who are able to store inventory in Amazon's fulfillment centers, where Amazon handles all picking, packaging, and shipment of those items through its normal process.
