Naviscan PET Systems Scores $15M
San Diego-based Naviscan PET Systems, a firm developing high resolution PET scanners used for medical imaging, has raised $15M in a Series C round, the firm said Thursday. The new round of funding was led by QuestMark Partners, and also included prior investors Sanderling Ventures, Mayo Medical Ventures, and Walker Ventures. Michael Ward of QuestMark will join the firm's board as part of the funding. Naviscan's systems are used for detecting tumors in small body parts, and are used by physicians to locate cancer; the firm said the funding will go towards further clinical validation and commercialization of its product, along with additional development of imaging and intervention technology.
