NASA Awards SpaceX Three Crew Flights On Boeing Delays
NASA said on Friday that it is awarding three more, crewed astronaut missions to SpaceX. According to NASA, the addition of those three new crew flights will allow the agency to "maintain an uninterrupted U.S. capability for human access to the space station." The contract award comes as SpaceX competitor Boeing has seen more delays for its own spacecraft launch efforts. At the moment, SpaceX is the only commercial company with a platform which meets NASA's safety requirements to transport crew to the space station. NASA says it expects that it might use those any additional flights as early as 2023 to maintain mission readiness.
