Newport Beach-based Volonic, a newly launched company which bills itself as a "luxury lifestyle brand", said it has launched, saying it has created a $250,000 solid gold wireless charger. According to the company, the new product--the Volonic Valet 3--is available for pre-order, and will include 1,500 grams of 18-karat yellow gold. The company--which apparently has yet to build the charger--also offers up other, "luxury" wireless chargers, starting at around $685.00. The company said its founder and CEO is Shawn Dougherty, a co-founder of mobile charging company mophie.
