Million Girls Moonshot Aims At STEM Learning For Girls
A new effort, out of San Diego, the Million Girls Moonshot, launched this morning, backed by The Intel Foundation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation plus the STEM Next Opportunity Fund and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. According to the Million Girls Moonshot, it will work with afterschool programs nationwide to increase diversity and equity in science, technology, engineering and math, providing grant funding and in-kind resources in all 50 states to increase access to hands-on, immersive STEM learning. According to the group, the new effort will tap funding and programs from NASA, Qualcomm Incorporated, Technovation, National Girls Collaborative Project, CSforALL, JFF, Techbridge Girls, STEMconnector and Lyda Hill Philanthropies.
