Lehr Makes Popular Mechanics List
Los Angeles-based LEHR, a startup manufacturer of propane-based gardening tools, is one of the companies being highlighted by Popular Mechanics today with their "10 Most Brilliant Products of 2009". LEHR's Propane Trimmer uses natural gas canisters, instead of gasoline, to power its tools, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on foreign oil. The firm is headed by Bernardo Herzer, and so far has been funded by friends and family. The company's product was the only one listed this year from a Southern California company.
