HyperX Debuts New DDR4 Gaming Memory
Fountain Valley-based HyperX, the divisio of Kingston Technology Company which focuses on the high performance gaming market, announced a new DDR4 memory product today called the HyperX FURY. The new DDR4 memory is designed specifically for the gaming market, with support for "overclocked" gaming PCs up to 2666MHz, available in three different colors (black, red, and white), and support for the Intel 200 series processors and X99 chipsets plus AMD's Ryzen processors. Overclocking is the technique of running computer processors beyond their rated speeds, to eke out the maximum amount of performance for videogaming; gamers, unlike other computer users, will often show off the internals of their gaming PCs with transparent cases and fancy light displays, hence the support for different colored memory. Pricing on the new memory, which is available as 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB modules, was not announced.
