HIPPEAS Picks Up Funding Round From Leonardo DiCaprio, Others
Los Angeles-based natural snack food company HIPPEAS, which makes organic snack food made out of chickpeas, has raised a round of equity funding, the company announced on Tuesday. The funding came from Strand Equity Partners and Leonardo DiCaprio. Size of the funding was not announced. HIPPEAS was founded by CEO Livio Bisterzo. The company says its revenues are on track to more than triple this year, but it did not disclose any financial details on those revenues. HIPPEAS says its snacks are currently sold at Starbucks, Whole Foods, Wegmans, Albertson's, Safeway, Boots, Waitrose, Amazon.com, and elsewhere. More information »
