Gumiyo Launches Effort With Los Angeles Times
Woodland Hills-based Gumiyo, which develops mobile marketing technology, said today that it has launched an effort with the Los Angeles Times to market classifieds, online automotive, and real estate advertising via mobile phones. Gumiyo said that it has rolled out a new service for the Los Angeles Times, to allow car shoppers and home buyers to use simple text messages to get information about listings, photos, and video on any handset. The new text messaging service also includes access to CARFAX Vehicle History Reports. Financial impact of the deal with the Los Angeles Times was not disclosed. Gumiyo offers its Mobile ready platform on an OEM basis to publishers and others; the firm is angel backed by individuals such as Yuri Pickover (founder of Xylan and Access360), among others.
