GNARBOX Gets $8.5M For Ultra Portable Digital Editing Device
Santa Monica-based GNARBOX, the developer of a portable device which connects to both your smartphone and your GoPro, DSLR, or other camera to enable on-the-spot editing, backing, and sharing, has raised $8.5M in a funding round, according to the company. Source of the Series A funding was not announced. GNARBOX was founded by Tim Feess (CEO) and Will Africano. The company also has raised $500,000 via Kickstarter for its device, which costs $299. The device, which includes 128MB of memory, lets users upload full resolution footage from their camera, and then connect to a portable Wi-Fi hotspot and edit and share high resolution video, including 4K and .RAW files.
