Facebook SDK Upgrade Appears To Cause Widespread App Crashes
iPhone apps from Los Angeles-based dating app developer Tinder--not to mention other services like Spotify, Pinterest, and Waze--all were crashing or unavailable this Friday morning, as a result of what was believed to be an upgrade to the Facebook software development kit (SDK) in iOS. All of those apps--and many others--allow users to use their Facebook profiles to log into their apps. The crashes are only occurring on iOS, and are not affecting esktop and Android users. The crashes are not the first attributed to a Facebook SDK upgrade.
