E3 To Remain In LA
Local video gaming fans, and Los Angeles city officials, can relax this morning after the industry's big conference, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), said it will remain at the Los Angeles Convention Center through 2015. The next event, E3 2013, will run from June 11th until June 13th of 2013. The conference had been rumored to be moving from Los Angeles, on plans to reduce the amount of available space at the Convention Center for a new sports and event stadium, Farmers Field. The move was announced by the Entertainment Software Association this morning, along with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The group's conference this year brought 45,700 people to the industry trade show. No details on how Los Angeles convinced E3 to remain were announced, but Villaraigosa took credit for having "personally joined in the negotations" on the deal. The conference, according to the ESA, generated $40M in revenue for Los Angeles this year.
