Donuts Starts Rollout Of Domains To Public
Donuts, the domain name registrar which has major operations in Southern California--and many ties to Demand Media--said today that it plans to start rolling out its roster of new, global top level domains (gTLDs) starting on Wednesday. Donuts said it will make .BIKE, .CLOTHING, .GURU, .HOLDINGS, .PLUMBING, .SINGLES, and .VENTURES available on a first-come, first serve basis Wednesday, and will then roll out .CAMERA, .EQUIPMENT, .ESTATE, .GALLERY, .GRAPHICS, .LIGHTING and .PHOTOGRAPHY next week; the company says it now has more than 100 signed contracts to offer the top level domains to customers, and will be rolling out those additional domains all during the year. Donuts is based in Bellevue, Washington, but thanks to the company's roots at Demand Media, Oversee.net, and other domain name companies here also has executives and staff in Los Angeles.
