Dollar Shave Club Gets $9.8M For Subscription Razor Service
Dollar Shave Club, the subscription razor delivery service headed by Michael Dubin, has raised $9.8M in a Series A funding. The round was led by Venrock, and also included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Forerunner Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Shasta Ventures, and Felicis Ventures. As part of the funding, the company said that David Pakman of Venrock joins the company's board of directors. Dollar Shave Club is one of the company's spawned out of Science, Inc., and burst onto the scene earlier this year with a highly viral, campy video with Dubin touting the company's razor blades. The company offers up monthly, subscription delivery of razor blades for men. Dollar Shave Club is based in Venice. More information »
