D2 Technologies Shows WiMax Mobile Phone Design
Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies, a developer of embedded communications software for the VoIP market, announced Monday that the firm is showing a new reference design for WiMAX mobile phones. The firm said the new design allows manufacturers to quickly develop and deliver WiMAX handsets and other portable devices. D2 Technologies develops embedded software used by manufacturers to more rapidly create their own mobile phones; the new reference design is based on Linux running on a Texas Instruments processor. D2 said it is planning on Google Android and Microsoft Windows CE/Mobile platforms in the future.
