Ceres Chief Scientific Officer Takes Advisory Role
Thousand Oaks-based energy crop developer Ceres, which develops agriculutural biotechnology for the renewable fuels market, said Tuesday that Richard Flavell, PhD., the firm's Chief Scientific Officer, has become Chief Scientific Advisor. Flavell remains on the company's board. The company said the new position makes Flavell a consultant to the company. Flavell has been at Ceres since 1998. Flavell said the move came as he turns 69. Ceres develops seeds specifically geared towards optimizing biofuels production.
