Broadcom Wins India's Karbonn Mobiles
Irvine-based chipmaker Broadcom reported a win this morning with Indian mobile phone brand Karbonn Mobiles, which it says will use its Android 4.0 platform for a new smartphone. Broadcom said that Karbonn Mobile will use its Android 4.0 platform for its A12 smartphone, which will include a 1GHZ processor, multimedia, 3G/2G dual-SIM dual standby, and more. Shipment volumes and financial impact of the win were not announced. Broadcom said the new phone is powered by its BCM21654G chipset. Karbonn's new phone is already shipping in India.
