BigRentz To Provide $10,000 In Scholarships To Trade Schools Students
Irvine-based online equipment rental marketplace BigRentz announced this morning that it has launched a $10,000 scholarship effort, where it will provide two students with $5,000 scholarships to cover educational expenses towards attending a vocational trade school. According to BigRentz, the new scholarship is available to high school seniors planning on vocational training and students currently enrolled in a trade school. BigRentz said it created the scholarship to try to encourage more young adults to see the advantages of trade school; the company pointed out that there has been a widening skills gap in the construction industry, driven by falling enrollment in trade schools. The deadline to apply for the company's new scholarship is August 5th. BigRentz said it hopes its efforts will counter what it says is an inaccurate view that trade school training can't lead to high paying jobs.
