Audyssey Launches New Product
Los Angeles-based Audyssey Laboratories, a venture-backed developer of audio equalization technology, disclosed this morning that it has rolled out a new, professional room calibration tool for improving home theater sound. According to the firm, its new Sub Equalizer product applies its audio technology to manage low frequency distortion, caused by room acoustics. Audyssey's audio processing technology marketed under the MultEQ XT name--is based on technology developed at the University of Southern California. The firm's chief scientist is Tomlinson Holman, who invented THX. According to Audyssey, the new product is available from custom home theater installers.
