Appetize Adds New Customers, Trumpets Growth

Playa Vista-based Appetize, which develops modern, tablet- and handheld-based point of sale (POS) systems, has added a number of high profile customers, and says it has seen record growth this year. The venture backed company said it had 100 percent year over year growth, and 60 percent quarter-over-quarter growth in Q1, as a result of a number of new deployments in the restaurant and retail area. The company said its notable new clients include the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and The Fields; the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in Saint Paul, MN; the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra; the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, MN; the Memphis Zoo; and the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Appetize's point-of-sale products are aimed at use at business dining campuses, education campuses, zoos, convention centers, chains, theme parks, and entertainment arenas. The company's point-of-sale terminals and software are a significant upgrade from legacy point-of-sale terminals. Appetize is backed by Shamrock Capital. The company received a large, $20M funding round in January.
