AirMap Launches iOS App For Drone Operators
Santa Monica-based AirMap, which provides airspace information and services for unmanned aircraft operators, has released a new, iOS app, which lets operators access a wealth of information about airports, airspace advisories, and more. According to AirMap, the new software, which runs on both iOS and Apple Watch, both recreational and commercial drone operators can see low-altitude airspace advisories, create flights, file digital flight notices to over 80 airports, manage unmanned aircraft, and more. AirMap is developing a new system, called the AirMap Digital Notice and Awareness System (D-NAS), which lets airports and others see what users are flying drones nearby--and also allows airports to contact those operators, if needed.
